Pirates battle

Pirate battle is central summer event in Omiš, the part of Split-Dalmatia Country and Croatia. It is a historical spectacle which for many years now attracts more then 10 000 visitors to the town port and in an attractive way revieves the proud history of the town of Omiš.

This unique event is a reenactment of actual historical battle between the pirates of Omiš and Venetians that took place in the 13th century. The famous pirates of Omiš, rulers of the coast and island from the Cetina to the Neretva river from the 12th till 15th century won many victories on the sea.

Teh participation of many fully armed, members of historical forces contributes to the attractivness of this event.
